Sara Breznikar was born in 1993 in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. She gained her first musical experiences at a very young age at the local music school in the piano class of Vivina Gazvoda. At the age of fourteen she started studying horn in the class of Katja Pupis, and two years later continued her training at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana, Slovenia, in the horn class of Metod Tomac. After her graduation in 2012, Sara Breznikar began her horn studies with Prof. Hansjörg Angerer, with piano as a second instrument with Prof. Margarethe Willim Burnecki at the Universität Mozarteum, in Salzburg, Austria.
Sara Breznikar graduated at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg in 2020.
During the years of study she also received important musical impulses from Radovan Vladković, Boštjan Lipovšek, Johannes Hinterholzer, Radek Baborak and others.
Sara Breznikar has performed with Bläserphilharmonie Salzburg, Sinfonieorchester Mozarteum Salzburg, SFK Orchester, Oper im Berg Festival Orchester, Unsere OperOrchester, BSF Orchestra and in various chamber music arrangements such as brass quintett, wind quintett and brass trio. She has performed in Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Serbia, Slovenia and Czech Republik.
Since August 2019 she is a member of the KMA Berlin team for teaching Horn.
